Having lived up and down the East Coast, William Galaini finally settled outside of DC after a charming stream of career failures that ranged from the hospitality business to the military. After marrying his college sweetheart, writing became his vehicle to pull his life together. Six novels, four cats, forty pounds, and one son later, you now can find him here at Evolved Publishing.

His work focuses on character revelation and multifaceted conflicts nestled within science fiction and fantasy settings. The influences that echo in his writing include role-playing games, classic literature, world history, and his personal experience. To recharge, he naps on the couch under his mother’s afghan, surrounded by his cats.

Contact him through his website at www.WilliamLJGalaini.com, because he desperately needs to hear what you thought of his work!

As a child of Kentucky and Texas, bluegrass and bluebonnets share equal time in my blood, fueling a need for adventure and exploration, and a keen desire to see what is out there.

This is my third evolution as a writer, starting as a young boy inventing adventures for my toys and friends. In school, I wrote to fulfill assignments and map out the world. Now, I write for the same reason I read: I want to know what happens next.

Stories can make us laugh or smile, scream or cry, sometimes at the same time. In the best stories, we let the pages tell us what we need to see inside ourselves.

My fiction ranges from horror to historical, and I placed in a short story contest when one of my first stories found a home in Evolution: Vol 1, published by Evolved Publishing. Outside of the Lone Star state, I won the Arkansas Writer’s Conference Special Award (2009) and the Creme De La Creme Award (2014) from the Oklahoma Writer’s Federation, Inc. for best overall story.

Watch for The Holocaust Engine, a horror/dystopian/post-apocalyptic adventure co-authored with David Rike, to release on 7 October 2019.

The armies of hell are loosed upon paradise, and nothing can stand in their path.

It begins with disease.

A brain-rotting virus, which leaves its victims disoriented and hyperviolent, rages out of Cuba into the Florida Keys. The bewildered government destroys the mainland bridge in response, and places the islands under quarantine. Inside this cordon, the population descends into chaos as rival factions battle over dwindling resources. Buildings become fortresses, boats lash together as defensible islands, and whole neighborhoods wall off into armed camps. As order slips beyond any chance of recovery, hopelessness reigns.

But not everyone accepts this fate.

Extreme prepper Reagan Castaneda emerges into this world of cruelty and paranoia feeling destined to conquer; a group of high schoolers known as the Wharf Rats roam the island under the leadership of the charismatic Hunter Grant; and Police Captain Perry Nelson struggles to keep the formal government functioning, until he is ordered to rescue a Navy SEAL that is trapped on the island, but who is not what he seems.

Isolated and locked away behind a military cordon, Key West has become the beachhead for an invasion. These monsters have have not come to kill, though; they have come to build an army of the doomed, and unless the survivors can destroy them and close the breach into our world, they will dominate all of creation.

I didn’t grow up wanting to write. In fact, when I finished college I’d all but stopped reading. Then I took a job at a local police department as a whistle-stop on the way to some great destiny, got hurt early on and, faced with long days of much-needed bed rest, limped into a local book store, and left with an armful of novels.

Two decades later and I’ve served that police department as an officer, supervisor and, now, investigative lieutenant, all the while bleeding the book stores dry. As for the great destiny, I simply offer this: we are never fully human until we find some outlet for our innate creative impulses. My outlet is the novel, particularly the dystopian science fiction and horror stories that resonated with me those years ago. Perhaps, one day, I’ll find that something I’ve written has influenced another, the same as that armful of books once did for me.

Melsa M. Manton grew up roaming the mountains of Western North Carolina. An early education of Aliens, Predator, Terminator, and Stephen King led to a love of science fiction and she began writing as soon as her fine motor skills allowed.

She studied International Affairs in Washington D.C. with the intention of diving into the political realm, but ended up diving into the ocean instead. An avid scuba diver, she spent seven summers sailing and teaching diving worldwide. For the next ten years, the wanderlust took her all over the world, from Russia to Tasmania, with many places in between, and eventually set her on a path of holistic medicine. She runs Blue Desert Hale, a wellness center and Cranio Sacral Therapy school, in the mountains of New Mexico.

Her life path has morphed considerably over the years, but there is one thing she has done consistently through it all. To write is to live.

Melsa’s personal motto: DREAM BIG OR DIE.

Watch for the first book of the “Gemination” sci-fi/psychological thriller series, Hear No More, to release 7 October 2019.

Big Brother is watching, but he’s quite the elusive doppelgänger, and he’s not the only one watching.

Leyla Stone serves the world as International 911, stopping injustices before the public is aware of them. The Sedition Underground is her home, but when she unwittingly takes part in an unauthorized assignment, her home becomes hostile territory.

The enigma of all enigmas, Devlin Vail, rescues her from what he calls Geminates, the product of a radical genome endeavor initiated by an international conglomerate, The Faction.

Stone is smack in the middle of a secret and relentless war between her former employer and new enemy. However, the enemy isn’t new—she simply has no memory of them. She remembers every waking moment of her life… but not of what happens in the moments between dreaming and waking.

The “Gemination” series combines the amnesiac espionage of The Bourne Identity with the psychological unraveling of The Three Faces of Eve, set on the genetically manipulated stage of Brave New World. Frontier nanotech and a hint of the supernatural interlace for some truly twisted tradecraft.

Watch for the first full-length novel in the Star City series of Young Adult Science Fiction adventures to release on December 4, 2017.

An alien race, the Ba’ren, makes contact with Earth. To jumpstart diplomacy with humans, the Ba’ren offer their advanced medical technology, prompting the United States government to create a joint research project, and to call for the best of the best.

Eighteen-year-old Emma Smith is ready to capitalize on this historic opportunity. She beats thousands of applicants for the position of student ambassador. Emma knows helping the Ba’ren cure osteosarcoma will kick-start her biomedical engineering career, not to mention give her a front-row seat to learn more about the mysterious aliens.

Sepporinen, a young Ba’ren asteroid miner, cares little about meeting humans. He seeks only riches and glory in prospecting the solar system’s asteroids, but the Ba’ren government inexplicably sends him to Earth to assist with the research project, and to work with a young Earth girl.

Emma and Sepporinen draw closer as they work together, and discover far more is at stake than what their respective governments have let on. As political struggles intensify between feuding human and Ba’ren factions, anti-alien sentiment on Earth reaches a lethal pitch. The unlikely pair, determined not to be pawns in this complicated game of life and death, must risk everything to help maintain the fragile peace between their two species.
