When cornered by a cartel’s soldiers, Eden must make the tough choice: attempt a high-risk rescue of Christina, or flee alone to save her own life.

J.P. Barnett

J.P. Barnett grew up in a tiny Texas town where the list of possible vocations failed to include published author. In second grade, he worked harder than any other student to deliver a story about a tiger cub who singlehandedly saved the U.S. Military, earning him a shiny gold star and a lifelong appreciation of telling a good story.

Fast forwarding through decades of schooling and a career as a software engineer, J.P. Barnett stepped away from it all to get back to his first real passion. Years of sitting at a keyboard gifted him with some benefit, though, including blazing fast typing hands and a full tank of creativity.

As a child, J.P. consumed any book he could get his hands on. The likes of Stephen King, Michael Crichton, and Dean Koontz paved the bookshelves of his childhood, providing a plethora of fantastical and terrifying tales that he read way too early in life. Though the effect these books had on his psyche could be called into question, these masters of storytelling managed to warp his mind in just the perfect way to spin a fun yarn or two.

J.P. currently resides in Seattle with his wife and hellion of a cat, both of whom look at him dubiously with some frequency.

Melsa M. Manton grew up roaming the mountains of Western North Carolina. An early education of Aliens, Predator, Terminator, and Stephen King led to a love of science fiction and she began writing as soon as her fine motor skills allowed.

She studied International Affairs in Washington D.C. with the intention of diving into the political realm, but ended up diving into the ocean instead. An avid scuba diver, she spent seven summers sailing and teaching diving worldwide. For the next ten years, the wanderlust took her all over the world, from Russia to Tasmania, with many places in between, and eventually set her on a path of holistic medicine. She runs Blue Desert Hale, a wellness center and Cranio Sacral Therapy school, in the mountains of New Mexico.

Her life path has morphed considerably over the years, but there is one thing she has done consistently through it all. To write is to live.

Melsa’s personal motto: DREAM BIG OR DIE.

The “Gemination” series combines the amnesiac espionage of The Bourne Identity with the psychological unraveling of The Three Faces of Eve, set on the genetically manipulated stage of Brave New World. Frontier nanotech and a hint of the supernatural interlace for some truly twisted tradecraft.

Watch for the second book of the “Gemination” sci-fi/psychological thriller series, See No More, to release in December 2022.

What do you do when you come face to face with your own psyche, and it’s not one you recognize?

The Sedition is crumbling and the Faction is growing stronger, but there’s a chance that Stone can stop it and restore equilibrium and order. Good, old-fashioned demolition-as-distraction becomes the strategy in hopes of goading the Faction into making a mistake, into revealing their éminence grise.

As defectives from both sides join Stone and nanotechnology renders privacy obsolete, the uncertain future sparks the volatile component of her psyche and threatens what remains of her sanity. And the Faction is hunting her for more than just retaliation—they want her mind.

Watch for the third book of the “Gemination” sci-fi/psychological thriller series, Speak No More, to release early 2023.

What happens when you come face to face with yourself, only… it’s not you?

Leyla Stone has been going it alone, but a night of déjà vu throws her back into the Underground. Her solo hunt has ended with a common object, just another piece of the puzzle.

The Faction’s complexes have moved, and Vail and Stone end up in the wolf den of DARPA in an effort to pinpoint the new locations. What awaits them, neither could be prepared for—familiar faces, though some are not so familiar at all.

Eva Fox is stirring, growing impatient. Though her maker is dead, another is rising to take his place. Leyla Stone may have left the Sedition, but the experiments are far from over.

Briefly….

I am a professional writer, as well as a full-time cook, cleaner, chauffeur, and work-at-home single Dad for three amazing teenagers. Born in Texas and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, I emigrated to Israel only months before the first Gulf War, following graduation from Indiana University in 1990. In 1996, I was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces, where I served for 12 years as a Reserves Combat Medic. Since 2002, I’ve worked as an independent marketing writer, copywriter and consultant.

More than You Asked for….

I am a writer by nature. It’s always been how I express myself best. I’ve been writing stories, letters, journals, songs, and poems since I could pick up a pencil, but it took me 20-odd years to figure out that I could get paid for it. Call me slow.

After completing my BA at Indiana University – during the course of which I also studied at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Haifa University – I emigrated to Israel only months before the first Gulf War, in August 1990. In 1998, I was married to the wonderful woman who changed my life for the better in so many ways, and in 2001, only a month after the 9/11 attacks, my son was born, followed by my twin daughters in 2004. In late 2017, two weeks before my 50th birthday, my wife passed away after giving cancer one hell of a fight.

Since 2002, I’ve run SDG Communications, a successful marketing consultancy serving clients in Israel and abroad.
